Space Art Gallery-October 2021

SEDS Space Art 2021

Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) is hosting a University-wide art competition where the winning pieces go to space!

The 2021 Space Art Competition is being held from October 4th to October 20th, with all materials provided to students free of charge. The art will then be displayed in The Duderstadt Gallery from October 21st to 29th. A panel of judges from STAMPS and the Space Institute will evaluate the art based on the criteria listed in our Competition Rules. The winning pieces of art will be sent to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the SpaceX CRS-25 mission.

Thirty five Michigan students have submitted art to the competition and their works are on display 10/25-10/29 in the Duderstadt Art Gallery.

SEDS will be hosting an event on Thursday, October 28th for the space and art faculty at the University of Michigan from 5:30-7:00pm. This will be an opportunity to mingle with faculty and view the Space Art Exhibit. We hope this can be an opportunity for traditionally separate domains to mix and discuss collaborations.

SEDS will also invite the student artists to join us and announce the winners at this event!
Please feel free to join us anytime from 5:30-7pm this Thursday, no RSVP required.
