Join a Student Organization

Students at the University of Michigan are invited to participate in a variety of student organizations and clubs that offer hands-on experience in space medicine, human factors in space engineering, and high-profile competitions, such as the NASA space suits and Artemis mission challenges.

  • CLAWS (Collaborative Lab For Advancing Work in Space) — The University of Michigan CLAWS team is a multi-disciplinary group of students open to various majors  that works on research, design, business, and development for space exploration. Join CLAWS.

  • BLiSS (Bioastronautics and Life Support Systems) — The Michigan Bioastronautics and Life Support Systems team develops vehicles and technologies for deep space transit with a focus on sustaining life and health. The team routinely wins competitions and challenges to design prototypes for NASA spaceflight missions. Join BLiSS.

  • SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) — Students for Exploration and Development of Space is an international organization with the mission to promote and advance space exploration. SEDS@UM, achieves this goal in the greater U-M community through multidisciplinary technical project teams, professional development opportunities, and K-12 outreach events. Join SEDS.
