NASA advances U-M’s Mission Concept Study to photograph entire auroras from space

MAAX is the Magnetosphere Auroral Asymmetry eXplorer, a pair of satellites equipped with ultraviolet cameras for creating images that completely cover the auroral ovals at each pole.
